When a panel requires paint the preparation and execution of the repair is absolutely key in ensuring the quality of the repair is high.
Often depending on factors such as the colour and/or age of the vehicle, paint repairs can very massively in terms of complexity. Sometimes rather than limiting the area to be painted to that which is damaged, it is neccesary to "blend" the new paint into adjecant panels. Although it is true that the actual color of the repaired area may not match the adjacent auto body panels exactly, the blend will create such an illusion that the affected area will not appear to have ever been touched.
When preparing for paint we ensure that areas of the vehicle that are not being painted are covered so that they are not affected by overspray.
I took my VW Golf lease car to Allerton Car Body to have the rear bumper resprayed after reversing into a low post. They did an absolutely fantastic job, and you'd never know it was ever damaged! It'll save me a fortune when it gets returned!
